CAT 3 INERT – LORRY/PICK UP

£21.85 PER CUYD

Rubble loads and/or which contain mixtures of clay, soil, thermal blocks, sand & gravel where little is possible to recover and a reasonable amount remains as a dumpable waste.  Shale loads with lots of 20mm down fines.  (If such waste is presented wet & completely unrecoverable such may be charged at Cat 4).  No reinforced concrete, slates, tarmac, glass, turf/greenwaste or *plasterboard.

CAT 4 INERT – Cat 3 Products which are wet or will become imminently wet during winter months Oct-Apr Inc.    £28.75 PER CUYD

Wet inert unrecoverable waste which is too wet to sieve effectively and therefore has no real viable value to us for recycling particularly during the wet winter months.  We ask for our customers understanding that we only accept such wet unrecoverable loads purely as a convenience to our regular customers, as customers will appreciate we will have to incur the costs of reloading, re-transporting and also incur the Cat 3 tipping price at DFI.  If such wet load includes tarmac, such will be at Cat 5 prices.    Can include limited amounts of reinforced concrete, pan roof tiles & paving slabs. *No plasterboard, glass, greenwaste.

CAT 5 INERT

£34.50 PER CUYD

Clay or wet unrecyclable type loads of Cat 3 and/or Cat 4 make up, but which also includes contaminates such as tarmac and others in which such load will need to be handpicked clean before we incur the costs of reloading, re-transportation and paying for the main of the unrecoverable load at DFI at La Collette. *No plasterboard, glass, greenwaste.

£46.00 PER CUYD

Soil, clay with minimal amounts of turf, green waste and/or roots.  Builder’s rubble with minimal amounts of glass and/or ceramics will be accepted.  Please note that this higher charge applies as the whole content of the load has to be handpicked.  For example; to perhaps take a traditional household size dustbin full of glass, ceramics or fiberglass & other insulation materials from the full load of unrecyclable rubble or inert waste and after having incurred the onerous labour costs we still have to incur the costs to reload, re-transport and tip the 90% cleaned up inert waste or other waste to La Collette at Category 3 prices.  *No plasterboard.

CAT 7 - MORE ONEROUS MIXED -£69.00 PER CUYD - *(Plasterboard, Wedi-board, Rope or Metal Clad Floor Tiles– Extra Charge)

*PLASTERBOARD/WEDI-BOARD

Please note that any amount of plasterboard, plasterboard with insulation or other contaminated backed plasterboard or wedi-board will mean that the load will be totally designated at Cat 7- £69.00 per cuyd.  On top of this category 7 charge, the calculated amount of plasterboard or wediboard (to be disposed of after cleaning/segregation) will in addition be charged at £86.25 per  of a 1-ton bag (approx. ⅓ cubic yard)

OTHER POSSIBLE CHARGES

SKIP BIN

MIXED WASTE SORTING

To avoid wasted time in loads being rejected at DFI at La Collette then please if your load(s) are known by you to be mixed please advise of such to the transport office at the time of booking or when the driver collects the skip bin.  If the driver/operator can clearly see the load is mixed they will have to deem the only option in being able to dispose of your wastes is to take such directly to a licensed mixed waste segregation and recycling facility, such as our waste management licensed facility, where charges will be applicable.

REJECTED LOADS

If the load is taken to La Collette or other outlets because our office and/or driver have been advised that the load is clean and where our driver/operator cannot see buried contaminants within the skip load, and once tipped such skip load is determined by DFI to include contaminants and is then rejected by DFI then extra transport charges will then be applicable (see below)

REJECTION EXTRA COSTS

In the scenario of such rejection, i.e. reloading and re-transport time as described above, you will appreciate increases further uncalculatable time and costs to our company than a fixed traditional transport single charge is expected to take and which extra time costs we need to pass on to yourselves.  You will appreciate that the downside is firstly a wasted trip and fixed charge to La Collette from your site, which you will be charged for at normal tariffs, but the time taken in after tipping being reloaded and thereafter more transport costs will be incurred, as such load either needs to be returned to you the customer to your premises or site for you to segregate, or alternatively such load will need to be taken to a waste segregation and recycling facility.  Such scenario’s incurring extra time and transport costs on top of the fixed cost for the skip transport leg just undertaken will be charged at £40.00 per hour and pro-rated per part hour from the time of arriving at La Collette to the time of returning to your site, or to the waste segregation and recycling facility.  To avoid all such scenario’s and costs we ask that if the skip waste is mixed or contains any of the TTS considered contaminants then please advise of such to the skip driver or to the office when arranging collection of the skip, as such will avoid the possible extra transport charges as your waste can be taken straight away to our company’s recycling facility, which is able to deal straight away with all types of mixed wastes including very onerous wastes of either Cat 4, 5, 6 or 7 as shown in the tables C and/or D overleaf, which are charged at higher prices than a previously accepted traditional type mixed load.

ASBESTOS

Any hazardous waste and/or non-licensed asbestos i.e. corrugated roof sheeting etc found within any mixed or inert recoverable stone loads presented at our recycling facility for recycling will be refused and/or reloaded.  In the event of asbestos being discovered a sorting charge of £100.00 per cubic yard volume of the whole waste being presented will be levied plus the disposal costs of the asbestos charged at DFI’s advertised tariffs .

In the event that any AIB type of asbestos is identified or if we are suspicious that any asbestos material maybe AIB within any load presented at our Recycling Centre, an asbestos licensed contractor will have to be brought in to safely deal with such, where in such event the total cost, which could run into many thousands of pounds will be the responsibility of the customer.

Similarly, if any load collected from your property/site is taken directly to DFI or any other waste outlet and found to include/contain any hazardous waste, asbestos waste and/or suspected asbestos waste, such outlet will need to bring in a licensed asbestos contractor to check and/or safely deal with such, where in such event the total cost levied by DFI or any other outlet, which could run into many thousands of pounds will be the responsibility of the customer.

N.B. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that asbestos is cleared before any waste arisings are presented.

DESIGNATION OF MIXED OR RECOVERABLE WASTE LOADS

IT IS ONLY OUR COMPANY BANKSMAN who will determine the designation of recoverable inert, mixed waste or size of type of load body volume presented at our recycling centre.  Consignment note tickets will be duly completed and priced purely on a unit of determined body volume.  If you wish to query our designation you must question our banksman and/or our office immediately.  If our designation and/or price is not acceptable at the time of waste presentation then the customer does not have to tip their load.  We reserve the right to give a specific price for a load, which load is not of the nature of any description/designation listed within our tables above.  No deductions by customers will be accepted without being agreed with the management.

WET PRODUCTS

Please note that although some wastes presented are/or can be deemed as recyclable in the dry, such very same or similar products designation may vary, as such on a different occasion may be wet and may not be able to be screened.

The weight of a cubic yard of inert wastes may change according to moisture content usually accepted between summer and winter.  Please also make sure that you take this into account when ordering your product.  Our sales office can assist you with advice of cubic yard that is applicable to the GVW of your vehicle.  Vehicle bodies or loads can be measured by request.

N.B. Due to the ever changing terms & conditions or criteria being set by the Islands waste industry, we reserve the right to amend

our waste designations and tariffs by simple notification at our recycling waste reception/office.

N.B. It is the responsibility of incoming tipping customers to ensure that you do not overload the GVW of your vehicle.
